How 6 Things Will Change the Way You Approach Revisions

  • Start immediately. Don’t let procrastination keep you from polishing your manuscript.
  • Follow a step-by-step process. If your revise in a willy nilly fashion, then you’re more likely to miss critical elements.
  • Make your revision routine a habit and it will take less and less time.
  • Planning ahead will save you time in the long run due to fewer structural re-writes. Save your words!
  • Avoid emotionally stressful cuts with heavy plotting.
  • Save the revisions for the end. Don’t interrupt the creative flow.
